When you are scrolling through the thousands of influencer options out there, it can be easy to skip over the people with lower follower counts. More followers equals more money, right? Not necessarily. There are a few other things to consider when selecting your influencers, such as reach, authenticity (did you know there is such a thing as authenticity scores?!?) and engagement. Here鈥檚 why you should consider influencers with more modest follower counts:
- They are more relatable. Micro and Nano influencers are most likely not professional influencers. They post about their regular day jobs and normal everyday struggles. They are authentic. Therefore, their audience sees themselves in these stories and associates their own lives with them.
- Their audiences are dedicated. As a result of this authenticity, their followers are faithful and trust the influencer鈥檚 opinion. Their audience also engages with these influencers and the influencer actually engages back. They鈥檙e much more likely to try a product their influencer endorses, especially if they know their purchase directly supports them.
- They can grow with your brand. Sometimes, nano and micro influencers are less experienced. As you might already be aware, this isn鈥檛 always a bad thing. If you are willing to work with them, you can help them learn and become a better partner, creating loyal, long-term brand ambassadors.
