As the head designer of Chanel and Fendi, it is safe to assume Karl Lagerfeld knows a thing or two about creating brand awareness. While many growing companies focus on generating that next sale, it is often more important to take time to create awareness for your brand.
Higher brand awareness leads to increased sales because potential customers will recognize the existence and availability of your company鈥檚 product or service. Coca-Cola, with its amazing branding strategy, easily stands out amongst its lesser-known competitors and you want to ensure your brand does the same. While it may seem daunting, creating brand awareness can be relatively easy if you follow some of the tips below.
Traditional and Non-Traditional Advertising
Advertising will always be a great way to begin to get your name out there; it is helpful in the beginning to analyze ways to target your ideal customer and advertise to them. There are, however, more untraditional ways to create brand awareness. For example, you could employ a guerilla marketing strategy that piques interest and encourages conversation around your brand. You can also sponsor an event that caters to your ideal customer, as this will allow you to display your company name and advertise its benefits to people more inclined to purchase. Lastly, you can create a hashtag for use at events, with product use or one that resonates with your ideal audience.
Be Social
In today鈥檚 always-connected society, it is important to really connect with customers both digitally and personally. If you are just starting out you can begin to create brand awareness by attending networking events and genuinely connecting with people. Reach out to the event host via Twitter and let them know how much you enjoyed the event, as most will interact back with you on the popular social medium. That mention alone could be enough to introduce your product or service to new customers. Remain active on social media and continue to listen to customer opinions. Celebrate everyone who interacts with your brand (we all want to be heard, right?) and encourage word of mouth referrals in the form of likes, retweets, and shares.
Manage Your Online Presence
Our last tip on creating brand awareness would be to have an online home that all of your communication and content can be found on. This ensures that it is easy to navigate and share branded content. Create a blog on your site and publish thoughtful content based on keywords for your industry. Interact with fellow blogs that review or mention you, always linking them back to your site. Remember, people who see content more often are more likely to buy. Let us know if this was helpful and feel free to comment on any experiences of further tips below!
